World Cup 2014: 5 Wildcard England Picks Roy Hodgson Should Consider
4. Adam Lallana (Southampton)
Adam Lallana is another player that I have an awful lot of time for; he has played a significant part in Southampton's very strong start to the season. Lallana is now 25 and has certainly had to wait for his chance, but Roy Hodgson has at least had a look at him after he won two England caps this season. However, most people would still think that his chances of making the final 23 is still relatively slim for this attacking midfielder. The player has an average rating of 7.26 and has already scored three goals as well as assisting one. The player is another that has graduated from the famous Southampton youth system, he also showed his quality playing in League One and then the Championship. It's no great surprise to see him performing so well at Premier League level, because so many people felt he could do well in the EPL. Unlike Redmond, Lallana didn't get many opportunities to represent his country at the earlier age groups, but opportunity may well knock for him this summer in Brazil. It seems to be that the Premier League is lacking in quality English attacking midfielders, so this is certainly a man that can fill the void for England.
