10 Star Trek Timelines That Were Erased

5. THIS Is Ceti Alpha V!

Star Trek: Enterprise brought, with its third season, one of the darkest versions of humanity's future. Following a devastating war with the Xindi, Earth had been destroyed, Starfleet was crippled, and those few humans who survived limped across space to Ceti Alpha V.

Though they wouldn't have known it, there was no future for them. Ceti Alpha V would suffer ecological doom after the explosion of Ceti Alpha VI just over one hundred years later. So, even though T'Pol and Archer seemed cosy enough twelve years after landing, they were counting down seconds that they didn't know were numbered.

This timeline was erased with a little help from Denobulan ingenuity. Archer had been infected with interspatial parasites that prevented him from forming long-term memories. Phlox's treatment destroyed them in both the present and the past, thus allowing them to rewrite history. Though the MacGuffin of the piece was less than important, it allowed for a dark, brutal look into what might have been for Starfleet's first warp five ship.
