Nicholas Kepros appeared, thanks to a season break, in both series 4 and 5 of The Next Generation - he played General Movar in Redemption. This tricky Romulan had already acted alongside some of Star Trek's stars in his career.

According to his obituary on Legacy.com, it was a performance of Medea by Trek alumn Dame Judith Anderson that convinced him acting would be his chosen career. He secured a place in RADA, leaving a career in medicine behind to tread the boards.

He appeared in both television and film, as well as theatre. He originated the role of Emperor Joseph II in Peter Shaffer's Amadeus, before appearing in Milos Forman's film adaptation, alongside F. Murray Abraham.

He died in January 2023 at the age of 90.
