10 2000s Superhero Cartoons Fans Shouldn't Ignore

6. The Legion Of Super Heroes

The Batman 2004 Series
Warner Bros.

When it comes to DC cartoons, everyone fondly remembers the Justice League animated series. However, everyone forgets that The Legion of Super Heroes had a two season run straight after, and that the series itself was really quite fun.

Establishing characters only previously seen briefly in Justice League Unlimited, season one was more episodic and easy to enjoy, showcasing adventures that the Legion would go on, exploring the 31st century and giving each team member an episode. However, season two shook up the show entirely as it aged up all of the team members and told more of an overarching narrative with Imperiex as the main antagonist.

Focusing on the core members of the team, we get to see the progression of the Legion as they witness events like Brainiac 5 succumbing to the influence of his ancestors, Triplet Girl losing one of her triplets and Lightning Lad trying to reconnect with his brother. Each character gets stronger with each experience, proving the team to be a worthy successor of the Justice League.

There is also the inclusion of a young Superman (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal), who provides the perfect vector for the viewer to experience the future, as he himself as just been transported there from the 21st century.
