10 80s TV Shows We Want To See Revived

3. G-Force: Guardians Of Space

G-Force was the second American adaptation of the wildly popular Gatchaman series in Japan, and its premise alone was enough to capture a rabid following when it aired in 1986. The show is essentially about a team of bird-themed secret agents in space who fight massive organisations and universal conspiracies. Although the show originally started as Battle of The Planets, G-Force was drastically more faithful to the original series due to the 80s having relaxed standards for cartoon violence. Still, the show was ultimately less popular than its predecessor and didn't last long. WHY WE WANT IT BACK What made G-Force (and Gatchaman in general) stand out during its time was its ability to combine mature political themes with an action-heavy cast. For those of us who were tired of the endless Mobile Suit adaptations, G-Force brought a human touch to space shows. These days, mainstream anime mostly shies away from space operas to more mystical tales like Attack on Titan, Fairy Tale, Naruto and One Piece. That said, it's about time a studio with a good budget let us re-explore the fascinating worlds behind this forgotten classic.
