10 Actors Who Got Kicked Out Of Their Own TV Shows
1. Gina Carano - Cara Dune Mandalorian Spin-Off
The most recent entry on this list, here we have an actor who was once scheduled to capitalise on the success of one of the most popular shows in recent memory.
Coming out of the first season of The Mandalorian, Gina Carano sat as one of the break-out stars of the series, turning many a head with her performance as Cara Dune on the show. So, it made sense that Disney would want to strike while the iron was hot with the character and the actor, with the studio apparently drawing up plans for a Dune spin-off show in the future.
However, that show would soon be shelved and scrapped from Disney's 2020 investor day presentation once fans began to push back at the star due to her controversial activity on social media. Yet, many were still left feeling like the actor would have a major part to play in the upcoming Rangers of the New Republic show after appearing in the second season of The Mandalorian. But Carano's time in the galaxy far, far away would eventually come to an end after the star compared her life as a conservative actor to that of a Jewish person in the Holocaust on Instagram.
Lucasfilm quickly commented on the situation after parting ways with Carano, stating "her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable."
There's been no news on what the future holds for Cara Dune, with re-casting or simply writing off the character all being suggested at this time.
