10 Actors Who Got Kicked Out Of Their Own TV Shows
2. Charlie Sheen - Two And A Half Men
Though CBS' Two and a Half Men was a sitcom based around the lives of two brothers and a child, there's no doubting who the star of the show was. Charlie Sheen, pretty much strutting around the place as a fictional version of himself in real-life - even donning the name of Charlie, in case there was any confusion - fronted the series alongside Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones.
Yet, after a number of disputes with CBS and showrunner Chuck Lorre, Sheen was eventually given the boot from the show in March 2011, a decision no doubt influenced by the actor's willingness to criticise both parties during numerous interviews. Instead of calling time on Two and a Half Men's run, though, CBS continued on, killing off Charlie (via train and then later piano accident) and replacing Sheen's lead character with Ashton Kutcher's Walden Schmidt.
The show would continue for a few more seasons, finally coming to a spluttering end in 2015, with the aforementioned piano death of a Sheen look-alike soon followed by Lorre turning to the camera, saying the word "winning" before himself being squashed by a falling instrument.
