10 Actors Who Played MANY Roles In The Same Show
1. Garret Dillahunt - Deadwood
Garret Dillahunt is one of those great character actors who improves just about everything he appears in, apparently enough that the producers of HBO's Deadwood couldn't resist but cast him in three separate roles.
Dillahunt appeared in the Western series' first season as Jack McCall, the drunken degenerate who shoots and kills Wild Bill Hickock (Keith Carradine), and who is later caught and presumed to be executed.
Despite this, Dillahunt returned for a much larger role throughout season two as Francis Wolcott, a seemingly dapper geologist whose well-attired front conceals a penchant for sexual violence, resulting in him killing three prostitutes in Deadwood. Wolcott later hangs himself out of despair.
And though that was Dillahunt's lot in the show proper, he made one final appearance in 2019's Deadwood: The Movie, which effectively served as a belated series finale.
Almost 15 years after the last episode aired, Dillahunt returned for a brief cameo as a drunk man, credited as "Drunk Number Two," as if to make a little fun of anyone who complained about Dillahunt playing two totally separate characters without explanation in the main series.
