As a hyper-violent, tactless, crass animated version of Get Smart, Archer came on the scene to become a ratings hit and a pop-culture phenomenon. Archer is for all intents and purposes a James Bond takeoff built around a spy agency full of terrible people with almost no moral sense of right and wrong and no sense of decency. In fact, the characters on Archer are all selfish, petty, and utterly and absolutely venal: plus theyre all hilarious. Sterling Malory Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) along with Lana Kane (Aisha Tyler), Malory Duchess Archer (Jessica Walter), Cyril Figgis (Chris Parnell), and Cheryl Tunt (Judy Greer) constitute the most hilarious despicable cast of characters since the cast of Seinfeld or Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. In a world where other prominent animated shows are not what they once were (The Simpsons, Family Guy, American and even South Park) Archer reveals that there's still plenty of good material being written out there for us grown folk.
