2. Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund gets swallowed up a bit by the story beyond The Wall. The White Walker plot has a tendency to drag a bit since the pay-off is so far away. That said, with a little more variation and screen time, he has the potential to be a truly interesting character. It is said he once bedded a she-bear, though thankfully this is thought to be a rumour he made up. He was intensely loyal to Mance Rayder, and instrumental in uniting the 'wildlings' in their attempt to escape the White Walkers. It looks like he has succeeded. Despite the death of his 'leader', and the defeat of the 'wildlings', he has been sent back to save as many of his brothers and sisters as possible by Jon Snow. With his humanity finally acknowledged, his quest to save the other free folk looks set to be a major thread going through this season, so in the likely event you don't know his name already, it might be best to familiarise yourself with him.
