3. Syrio Forel

Syrio Forel left a lasting impression in just a handful of appearances, as the instructor tasked with teaching Arya how to fight. While his methods, including having her balance on one leg for hours each day, are unorthodox, and he effectively spends his time beating and torturing a little girl when you think about it, they have served a purpose, keeping Arya alive after her escape from King's Landing. Then there was the epic fight between Syrio and the King's Guard as they came to claim his student. While he was presumably killed by Meryn Trant, the fact it occurred offscreen leaves his status ambiguous. His simple philosophy on life and intelligence endeared him to Arya, and audiences, and it is a shame his stay on the show was so short; he's a character you could watch for hours. Unfortunately he gets forgotten about a bit now the story has moved on. Perhaps he'll return at some point, as hopefully the rumours of his demise are revealed to have been exaggerated.
