6. Hizdahr Zo Loraq

Apart from only making his first appearances in Season Four, Hizdahr does not exactly benefit from having an almost unpronounceable name. To top things off, he's not a fighter, instead primarily appearing at council meetings, offering advice to Daenerys which she never takes. Not particularly gripping stuff. Despite this, she agreed to marry him in the latest episode, possibly out of pity after almost feeding him to the dragons for a crime he didn't commit. This surely suggests he's set to play a more central role this coming season. Hizdahr Zo Loraq was born to a wealthy family in a long, 'proud' tradition of slavery. Naturally this lead to him and Daenerys getting off on the wrong foot - she crucified his father for example - but as his negotiating skills have come to the fore, the Queen has found a purpose and respect for him. Like many characters, apparently Hazdahr is quite different in the book: a little more snivelling, a little less useful. Prepare for more Hazdahr appearances in the near future.
