10 Awesome TV Shows Still To Return In 2016
6. New Girl
Every so often a sitcom comes along that is warm and cosy, and it's incredibly easy to watch and start caring about and relating to the characters, mixing a lot of heart with a hefty dollop of humour. It's a reason Friends is still so popular to this day, and perhaps the closest successor on TV right now is New Girl.
It's not a Friends-clone, though there are plot similarities, but it definitely gives off that vibe, and it's one that makes it one of the most enjoyable sitcoms on TV at the moment, especially when it gets to fall.
Season 5 may have started late, and had Zooey Deschanel missing for a chunk of episodes, but it was still funny, feel-good comedy, and ended with Cece and Schmidt getting married, and Nick deciding to go off to New Orleans with Reagan. We'll get to see how they deal with married life, Jess confronting her feelings for the returning Nick, and Winston continuing to be hilarious and weird (leaning into that is one of the best moves the show has made recently), and we'll get that aforementioned crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine - that could be the best game of True American yet.
