10 Awful Seasons That Killed Great TV Shows
2. Homeland – Season 2
Homeland was important TV. The first season focused around the rescue of US marine Nicholas Brody from a terrorist camp in Iraq and subsequent questions surrounding his intentions. The lead up to the season finale was some of the tensest TV in recent history and Homeland ended on a brilliant yet extremely bleak high point. Many wished Brody would have ended season one with a bullet in his head but he didn't, however that's not even where it went wrong.
The show started off working the issues around public defence and terrorist with grace however soon fell into tiresome writing. Plots became silly, happenings were unrealistic and the show began to repeat mistakes. People hoped that the show would pick up following the brutal death of Brody in the end of season three but Claire Danes' Carrie Mathison just doesn't kick ass like she used to.
Although it still airs, Homeland isn’t a patch on the quality it used to be.
