10 Awful Seasons That Killed Great TV Shows

One of the most hated finales since Lost, of course Game of Thrones was going to feature on this list. The tense run eight year run up to this ending saw nine noble families battling for rulership over the kingdom of Westeros. Up until now the show had been known for its fearlessness in writing, ability to introduce 100s of complex, well layered characters and create engaging storylines that were never too hard to keep track of. Game of Thrones was a fantasy epic to live alongside The Lord of the Rings, it captured the imagination of the world and tore parts of its legacy into pieces for many once its poor final season aired.

There will be no spoilers here (as most people will recommend anyone new should skip the final season entirely) but for a show to spectacularly insult an audience this much is impressive. George R.R. Martin still hasn’t finished his book series, and with a TV ending as disliked as this, we wonder if he ever will?
