10 Best Episodes That Make Bad TV Seasons Worth Watching
6. No Way Out - The Walking Dead (Season 6)
The harshest of critics will claim that The Walking Dead has been bad since the end of Season One. While it’s true that it’s never been as tight as Frank Darabont’s original first season, it probably did take a few more years to go truly off the boil.
By Season Six though, the rot had well and truly set in. There were some bright sparks along the way, with Danai Gurira’s Michonne freshening things up, but all in all fans were starting to wonder exactly what had gone wrong.
No Way Out reminded us all why we were still tuning in.
The mid season premiere came out all guns blazing in every sense of the phrase. With the walkers inside Alexandria safe house and the (as yet unseen) influence of Negan beginning to be felt, this is the most high octane, claustrophobic episode in years.
We see some classic comic moments like the death of Jessie and her sons and Carl losing his eye to round it off too. Pretty much every area of fan service is covered, but it’s a shame the rest of Season Six couldn’t live up to it.
