"The One With The Embryos" is one of the most famous episodes in Friends but not necessarily the best titled for how we all remember it.
The main plot of the episode follows Phoebe being implanted with her brother Frank and his wife Alice's embryos. She sits in the hospital talking to them, wishing that it will work as this is the couple's one shot to have biological children. She has to wait for the result whilst Frank and Alice show up early with a pregnancy test.
The rest of the gang find themselves in a contest to find out who knows each other the best. Joey and Chandler begin by guessing the contents of Monica's shopping bag, then things begin to escalate. Ross becomes the host of a competition which makes this episode truly go down in Friends history.
Despite the huge thing happening to Phoebe, the contest between Monica, Rachel, Joey and Chandler is what makes "The One With The Embryos" so memorable. The answers are hilarious and it's great to see that nobody actually knows what Chandler does for a job. The outcome of the contest ripples through the next few episodes of the season.
Phoebe's storyline was a clever way to incorporate Lisa Kudrow's real-life pregnancy without making Phoebe a mother. This is one of the funnest episodes, yet also brings heartwarming moments as Phoebe begins the journey of giving her bother the ultimate gift.
