6. Another Day, Another Doctor...

Doctor Who Paul Mcgann Anniversary ...and this one probably wasn't the one you were expecting! On 14th November 2013, and to the delight of the Doctor Who community, Paul McGann made a shock return as the Eighth Doctor in The Night of the Doctor, one of two exclusive prequels which were released online in the build up to the main event. The mini-episode, written by Steven Moffat, marked the Eighth Doctor's first screen outing since his debut appearance in the 1996 TV Movie and finally gave fans - and the Eighth Doctor - the closure they had been waiting for. Confirming what many fans had already suspected, it transpired that the Eighth Doctor became John Hurt, who quickly disowned the title of 'the Doctor' to embark on a personal mission to end the Time War once and for all. After being given the Elixir of Life by the mysterious Sisterhood of Karn, this new War Doctor was a warrior ready for battle, and fans wouldn't have long to wait to find out where his new dark and dangerous path would take him...
