10 Best Sarah Paulson TV Shows

5. American Horror Story: Asylum

Sarah Paulson American Horror Story2
FX

Going back to earlier seasons of the American Horror Story anthology show, season two took a large portion of popularity after the first season of Ryan Murphy's creation made it on to the television screens. AHS: Asylum aired in 2012, showing a complete new theme to the first with the same set of actors coming back for more.

Paulson played a much more prominent role to her first appearance in season 1 Murder House, as the narrative followed an asylum for the insane and the struggle of the characters within. Her character Lana Winters is a reporter, coming to Briarcliff hospital to gain information on the unorthodox methods that reside there and the serial killer that is on the loose, trying to boost her career by looking for the next scoop.

Winters soon gets more than she bargained for, becoming a patient at the asylum to be 'cured' for her sexuality. She aims to free herself and expose Briarcliff for good, whilst being targeted by Bloody Face the killer along the way.

Paulson is known for her scared acting, especially in this season as her character suffers in the hands of the figures within her life. She varies in hard hitting topics whilst showing her transition from vulnerable to strong in getting her life back for the better.
