10 Best Sci-Fi TV Shows Of 2020
2. Raised By Wolves
There are no other shows in the world right now that feel as wild and unique Raised by Wolves. This compellingly thought-provoking and utterly mesmerising tale is equal parts outlandish and profound, providing plenty of material to keep you entertained, whilst confusing you at the same time. It walks the line between these two motives finely and remains successful all through its run.
This show was developed by Aaron Guzikowski and has the mighty name of Ridley Scott behind it as a director and executive producer. The parallels toward Scott's signature sci-fi legacy are evident, but not distracting enough to feel overwhelming, making his involvement with the project feel all the better.
The narrative tells of two androids - named Father and Mother - who are tasked with raising children on the planet Kepler-22b after a great war ravaged Earth. Soon these protagonists learn the struggle that comes from rearing humans and keeping their religious separations from tearing them apart.
Raised by Wolves deals with grand cosmic concepts that are inherently human. The idea of religion dividing society and artificial intelligence are explored in this high sci-fi world, yet presents a pervasive look at the state of our own existence.
Additionally, the performances on display are eccentric and fun, with particular highlights being from Travis Fimmel and Amanda Collin, and the world itself is incredibly engrossing to be a part of.
