1. John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous At Radio City

John Mulaney is currently the stand-up comedy industry's top dog and Kid Gorgeous, his most recent Netflix stand-up comedy special, cemented that status. Mulaney delivers non-stop laughs for an entire hour, speaking about a wide variety of topics, including assemblies in school, his time working at Saturday Night Live, how expensive university is, and his marriage.

Through brilliant diction and an endearing presence, Mulaney creates humour by dissecting many of the peculiarities of everyday life. While he has a straight edge appearance and exudes a boyish innocence, Mulaney, in a similar manner to his previous specials, does elude to a wilder past in Kid Gorgeous, several times referencing drug use during his college days.

Mulaney comes across incredibly genuine in his performance and leaves the audience and viewers with the impression that his on-stage persona is nothing more than a slightly exaggerated version of himself- as is the case with many of the best comedians. His material is relatable and accessible to everyone; even during his comparison of Donald Trump's presidency to "a horse loose in a hospital", not once does Mulaney mention Trump's name. This minor omission helps this joke become one that all can find funny, whether the listener supports the president or not.

While the content is exceptional, John Mulaney's delivery and unique stage presence are what set him apart from all other comedians, and are what make Kid Gorgeous At Radio City a must watch for any stand-up comedy fan.
