10 Best Star Trek Characters In One Scene Only

9. Frederick La Roque

Star Trek Frederick La Roque
CBS

In Star Trek The Next Generation, Marc Alaimo appears as four separate characters. One of these is buried under layers of Anticaan makeup, while the other set the standard for the Cardassian people. However, the other two characters both stand out clearly, with just a single scene each.

Frederick la Roque is a French-American card shark in the 19th century. He is well known for hustling rubes at the card table, owing to his prodigious skill and his ruthless, yet disarmingly charming persona.

So, when Lt. Commander Data walks through the door - out of time and out of sorts - he believes he sees an easy kill. First, he quizzes Data on his French, which the android is easily able to mimick. Then, he challenges Data to a hand of poker. He smiles, he is courteous and in his view, he is about to eat dinner....

Making it all the sweeter when Data enters his room in the very next scene, wearing la Roque's own waistcoast!
