10 Best TV Episodes Set In Just One Room

8. Line Of Duty - Series 5 Episode 6

Line of Duty is one of the most critically acclaimed shows currently on British TV, and it's easy to see why: it's packed with career-defining performances, fiendishly complex plotlines, and scenes so tense that you won't realise you've forgotten to breathe for the last twenty minutes.

Said scenes often come in the form of lengthy interrogation sequences, where AC-12 doggedly question a fellow police officer they suspect of corruption. The Series 5 finale takes this concept to its logical extreme, as it essentially consists of a single interrogation scene expanded to last for the full duration of an extra-long, ninety-minute episode.

With the action largely confined to the AC-12 interrogation room, DI Kate Fleming and DS Steve Arnott engage in a battle of wits against DCS Patricia Carmichael to save their Superintendent Ted Hastings, who she suspects is the mastermind behind a rampant organised crime group.

It's not quite the show's best episode but it's a nail-biting finale that gives fans plenty of questions as well as answers, and it goes to show how -- even when confined to one room -- Line of Duty's impeccable knack for compelling characters and intricate plots can coalesce to produce some absolutely unmissable TV.
