10 Best TV Shows That Never Won An Emmy

8. Prison Break

Do Prison Break’s most recent seasons deserve an Emmy? Absolutely not; they shouldn’t be anywhere near consideration for nomination. But if you think back to that first season, that searing drama, uncompromising storytelling and phenomenal acting from career B-listers... now remember that it scored one nomination. For Outstanding Theme Music. Which it didn’t even win.

The theme was good, no doubt, and was composed by Ramin Djawadi, who went on to win Outstanding Music Composition for Game Of Thrones in 2018.

Does anyone really think back to Prison Break’s first season though and go ‘ooh, wasn’t the theme song good’? The Emmys had no idea Prison Break would cannibalise itself and implode shortly after, but had they known, they might have recognised it while they had the chance.

It should have at least been up for Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor with Wentworth Miller, and the blame for it not being lies squarely with the Emmys.

However, had it not tanked so magnificently, it would have had a lot more chances to win and might have picked up the awards that first season deserved eventually.
