10 Confusing Game Of Thrones Moments Nobody Understands

3. Bran And The Three-Eyed Raven

Kind of like Gendry, Bran Stark is another character you might have forgotten all about. He has not totally disappeared, but he did sit out the entirety of season 5. He's due to return - looking about ten years older judging by footage seen in the trailers - to hopefully clear up one of the shows most confusing moments to date.

Bran spent much of his time on screen being assailed by disturbing visions of a three-eyed raven. Bran sets out to find the source of these visions, and with the help of his trusty Hodor and new companions Jojen and Meera, he eventually does.

His path leads him to a tree on a hill, and this is where Game Of Thrones got very weird, very quickly. Bran's group was first attacked by re-animated skeletons before being assisted by a pixie-like forest-dwelling child, who brings them to safety inside the tree. If that wasn't enough, inside the tree is an old man - the three-eyed raven himself, his very limbs fused to the trees roots. He solemnly informs Bran that although he will never walk again, he will learn to fly...and that was the last we saw of Bran for a whole season's worth of episodes.

That scene may have meant more if you've read the books, but if you haven't, the sudden unexplained appearance of forest pixies and a magical tree-man might make you wonder exactly what you're watching.
