10 Confusing Game Of Thrones Moments Nobody Understands
2. Arya And The Faceless Men
Season 5 had its problems, among them Arya’s long stint learning her trade in the House of Black and White, home to assassins known as the Faceless Men.
I was one of those with high hopes for the storyline, hoping Arya would learn some cool face-switching black magic and use it to enact her revenge upon those who had wrong and killed (most of) the Stark family.
Instead, what we got were innumerable scenes of Arya doing menial tasks, ostensibly to help her learn her skills (like a Westerosi version of Daniel in Karate Kid), and it wasn’t exactly thrilling. We got to see her taunted by someone who may or may not be a young girl, and a man who may or may not be Jaqen H'ghar utter enigmatic nothings.
Did we need an entire season of that? Those in charge of Game Of Thrones seemed to think so.
