While a zombie assassinating the President sounds like a classically terrible B-movie, Shannon Richardson - who has appeared in various shots throughout the show as a walker - sent ricin-tainted letters to Barack Obama and New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg. The Texan mother-of-six sent the potentially hazardous letters in 2013, after first accusing her husband of committing the crime, but she eventually confessed and was sentenced to 18 years in jail. While the show had no real bearing on her state of mind or motives, the publicity that the case garnered was obviously unwanted by AMC, who found themselves roped into developments.
