10 Craziest Things That Happened After Buffy The Vampire Slayer's TV Series Ended
6. Giles is a Child
During the climactic battle at the end of season eight, Giles is murdered by Angel who is possessed by the big bad, Twilight. This leads Angel onto an arc of guilt which carries into his own comic series, Angel and Faith.
This storyline sees Angel determined to find a way to resurrect Giles and put his guilt to rest. Eventually, he finds a way but it doesn't go as expected. Instead of returning as the man we know, Giles is brought back as a teenager. Despite having the body of a child, GIles still retains his adult memories and knowledge but is forced to live in the body of a child which makes things super awkward when he's reunited with his love interest, Olivia.
Giles' return was a brilliant surprise for Buffy fans, going into the tenth season. It worked as a fun twist on resurrection and proved that, especially in the Buffyverse, nothing ever goes as planned and there are always consequences.
Upon Giles' return he continues to be as valuable as ever with his vast knowledge, despite struggling with having to live through puberty again. Eventually, Willow discovers a spell that could rapidly age him and bring him back to his normal age.
