2. The Gorn

When the Gorn were introduced in the Star Trek: The Original Series episode Arena, they were depicted as muscle-bound, shambling lizard men who resembled tyrannosaurus rex.

However, the Gorn were recently re-introduced to the Star Trek universe in the series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Strange New Worlds explored their culture in greater detail than any earlier depiction.

Like the xenomorphs from Alien, they hatch from parasitic eggs and their young violently burst from the bodies of the host. The juvenile Gorn are nasty little brutes that constantly fight with each other for dominance, ensuring that only the strongest and most intelligent survive.

Not long after hatching, young Gorn develop venom ducts that allow them to spray venom that blinds their prey and infects future hosts with eggs. The young Gorn are also undetectable by sensors and can even shield themselves from telepathy.

As described by La'an Noonien-Singh, whose family was slaughtered by them, the Gorn see every species that isn't Gorn as a potential food source or host. They also maintain breeding planets where sentient beings are used as food and hosts.
