2013s Cold War was a decent enough affair, but like the majority of series seven it was plagued by a rushed ending. Certain stories warrant a two-parter and Cold War was one of them. Just how can you successfully re-establish an iconic monster from yesteryear in only 45 minutes? Cold War ended with Skaldak returning to his Ice Warrior comrades as he was beamed aboard their ship. In this episode we saw only one Ice Warrior so what we want to see in their next appearance is an army of these cold creatures. Imagine the thrill of that. Skaldak needs to return also for a monster he was incredibly captivating and you just know there is a lot that could be explored with this particular Ice Warrior. The Ice Warriors hail from Mars so why not set their next appearance there? Perhaps we could see a prequel to The Waters of Mars in which the Ice Warriors battle the Flood. The Flood could be taking over some of the Ice Warriors and the Ice Warriors have to fight and kill their chums to ensure the overall survival of their species. This could then lead to the Flood being frozen and the Ice Warriors departing Mars. Again, it would be a brilliant way to tie the episode into one of the earlier stories, along with showing the full extent of the threat the Ice Warriors ultimately pose.
