Have you ever wanted to see the Doctor fight off against H.P. Lovecraft's dark and twisted universe of monsters? Then this story is perfect for you!
Involving the Twelfth Doctor, this story starts in arguably one of the most Doctor Who ways, in that the Doctor reunites with an old friend and decides to take her to the best fish and chip shop in the galaxy which for some reason is in Seaton Bay, 1979.
But of course, they never get their Fish and Chips as when the pair arrive in Seaton Bay they quickly become involved in a tale of monsters and myths as something in the sleepy town appears to be rising from the ocean, driving the citizens mad, infecting the Doctors' companion's dreams and eventually appears upon mounds of seaweeds.
This story is very clearly a reference to Cthulhu tales and is pretty darn awesome for it, as the Doctor never really fights anything from the H.P. Lovecraft dark universe. Which honestly would be a great storyline if the Doctor had to compete with a dark Lovecraftian universe invading ours.
But alas, for now, this is a perfect story for fans who are in desperate need of a cosmological horror story to read, and it has more of the Twelfth Doctor without the main tv show companions, which makes for an interesting and tense tale to read.
