10 Doctor Who Episodes NOBODY Was Ready For

Love it or hate it, you can't deny that nobody expected the game-changing twists featured in The Timeless Children.

Both the Doctor (and the audience) had the shock of finding out that the character isn't who they thought they were. We believed that the Doctor was a Time Lord from Gallifrey, and while they still technically are, it was revealed that the Doctor was originally found on another planet, and was the source of the regenerative powers that created Time Lord society as we know it.

This reveal didn’t go down very well with countless fans of the show, as it completely messed with everything we thought we knew about the Doctor’s past. It was a bold move on Chris Chibnall's part, but that doesn't make it good.

Either way, Doctor Who fandom was completely and utterly stunned by the events of this episode. We knew that something big was coming, but nobody had "Completely rewrite the Doctor's backstory" on their Series 12 finale bingo card.
