The death of the Twelfth Doctor was an explosive one - quite literally.

Attempting to defend innocent people from a Cybermen assault, he charged through the woods and blew a vast majority of the villains up, but was eventually shot by one of their laser beams, kicking off his regeneration.

It's the kind of heroic and badass moment that the Doctor is famous for, but on the downside, it's strongly implied that his valiant final stand will ultimately be for nothing.

After the Doctor is shot, the episode cuts to Nardole, who tells a young girl that - even though the Doctor destroyed most of them - the Cybermen will eventually regroup, and at some point, they'll track down the people once again.

He adds that he'll "think of something" to stop them, but he doesn't sound the slightest bit confident when he says this, making it seem like he's just trying to be reassuring.

Well, you ain't fooling us mate! If the Doctor couldn't stop the Cybermen for good, then Nardole has no chance, and in all likelihood, everyone on the colony ship will be "deleted" once the Cybermen have recovered from the Doctor's explosive antics.
