7. Freema Agyeman
Freema Agyeman became a household name for her portrayal of the Doctor's unlucky in love companion, Martha Jones, but the actresses' first big break was in the revival of another long running UK series... Crossroads! Don't worry. We never watched it either. The widely ridiculed soap opera originally ran from 1964 to 1988 before making its grand televisual comeback in 2001 and it wasn't long before Freema joined the ensemble as the fame hungry Lola Wise. Her character tried to pass herself off as a pop star but ended up working in a hotel kitchen when her scam was rumbled. Better luck next time, Lola! Only... she never got a next time, because the show was axed a few months later. Its infamous final episode - which aired in May 2003 - proved to be extremely controversial amongst its long term fans when it was revealed that the show's entire history had all been a dream. And you thought Last Christmas was far-fetched...
