10 Doctor Who Stars Before They Were Famous

6. Matt Smith

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i62Jbs2mnYA Since that kiss in the 1996 TV movie, the Doctor has been setting a trend for getting up, close and personal with his companions (much to the dismay of the persistent purists!) but never before has he gone this far. After a serious back injury put his football career on an indefinite hold, Matt set his sights on showbiz and it wasn't long before he was landing bit parts in various TV shows including the BBC adaptations of Philip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North, in which he starred alongside recent Doctor Who departee Billie Piper. He also shared the screen with Billie in Secret Diary of a Call Girl when he guest starred in Series 1 as one of her clients. The popular ITV series followed the daily escapades of Belle de Jour, one of London's most high class escorts, and this scene has since become somewhat of an Internet sensation because it basically involves the Eleventh Doctor bonking Rose Tyler. Be still our beating Whovian hearts...
