10 Dumbest Decisions In Buffy The Vampire Slayer

3. Performing Reckless Magic After You Promised You Wouldn’t – Willow (Season 6, Episode 8)

There’s a reason Willow is so loved by the Buffy fanbase. She has a terrific character arc and she’s one of the most loveable characters in Sunnydale. In Season 6, however, her confidence blurs into recklessness.

Willow becomes addicted to spellcasting, and before long, her relationship with Tara falls apart. In ‘Tabula Rasa’, she promises to stop performing magic. But as soon as she’s alone in the house, she casts a spell that will make Tara and Buffy forget the magic she’d previously used on them.

This betrayal of trust has disastrous consequences. Though the magic was only meant to affect Buffy and Tara, the whole gang have their memories wiped and they can’t remember anything about each other.

This leads to plenty of humorous moments, but it doesn’t change the fact Willow’s actions were incredibly foolish. She’d just promised not to use magic again, yet as soon as the opportunity arises, she breaks her promise and lands her friends in a difficult predicament.
