10 Epic TV Shows That Never Made It To Our Screens

1. Game Of Thrones Prequel

Just when you thought you'd have a welcome break from all things Westeros, HBO announced a string of spin-offs that would be going into production before the original series had even finished.

The first two to get the greenlight were the Naomi Watts led Bloodmoon and House of Dragon.

Yet, in October 2019 - before we even got a chance to find out what the series was properly about - Bloodmoon was canned.

A source close to the show claimed that 'HBO were terrified the first prequel would scare hardcore fans' and that it was 'too ambitious'.

This fear of fan alienation - after executives saw the $30 million pilot - meant that the show would be killed off as suddenly as a Red Wedding murder.

Surely, HBO knew what the project would entail going into it - I mean it had a script they could read - so why was this 'woke' vision of the show so alarming to them?

Apparently set to introduce lesbian characters at the heart of the plot, a mixed race Ned Stark ancestor and the first black White Walker, this show could have been a welcome shift of perspective for a series that had become frustratingly stale.
