10 Funniest Episodes Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
2. Mac And Charlie Die (Season 4 - Episodes 5 & 6)
If any episode can accurately be seen as a microcosm of Sunny, it's surely this beloved two-parter. 'Mac And Charlie Die''s two subplots are the show in a nutshell; one a hair-brained scheme, the other a storyline revolving around sexual debauchery. Mac and Charlie are forced to fake their own deaths to avoid the former's father, a dangerous released convict, while Dennis and Frank attempt to use the bar's toilet cubicle to engage in anonymous sex. Predictably, everything goes wrong in the most amusing fashion. Highlights include Mac and Charlie's hilariously poor plan - which sees them fake their deaths via a shoddy video tape, before simply hiding out of the roof of Paddy's for a while - and the climactic scene of Dennis and Frank almost getting to know one another too well in the pub's bathroom. It's hardly the most groundbreaking episode of the series, but could be the funniest in terms of sheer, pound-for-pound laughs. It holds a special place in the hearts of most fans for simply following the Sunny blueprint to perfection.
