10 Game Of Thrones Moments That Didn't Live Up To Expectations
1. The Ending
While it can be said that nothing would meet the high expectations of fans, not one person could have predicted the mess the show would end in.
The failure of the final season can be chalked down to the mishandling of three key characters, Danaerys, Jon, and Tyrion. The audience had watched Danaerys grow into a powerful yet caring ruler who put the lives of her subjects above even her own dragons.
And what did she end up doing? Burned millions of innocent people alive despite already winning. Jon Snow isn't much better, not only did he fail to do anything meaningful throughout the entire season, he contradicts himself at every turn. One moment he says "I can't justify what happened" to Tyrion in regards to Dany burning King's Landing then immediately goes on to list justifications as to why she did it.
And then there is Tyrion who spoke in little more than a whisper all season long. Tyrion made countless dumb decisions despite numerous seasons building up how intellectually brilliant he was.
Other moments that didn't live up to fan expectations during the finale include; Bran becoming king because he has "the best story", the Iron Throne's destruction meant nothing, Sansa declaring independence from her own brother, and the other Kingdoms just being okay with that decision.
There are still plenty of other moments that did not meet fan expectations but we'd be here all day.
