10 Genius Ways To Link All The DC Universe Shows

1. Introduce New Characters Into The Shows - And Crossover Supporting Cast Members

This is a great time to have Wally West, Alec Holland, or Zatara/Zatanna enter the scene: versions of Black Canary and Roy Harper already exist in Arrow, but there's no reason not to introduce them to supporting characters from the other shows either. The cross-over event should have long lasting characters of the shows introduced in the crossover, especially if they serve a function to the story and serve a function in the coming plots once the shows separate and return to their respective time slots exclusively. This would also leave a more resonate impression for any future interactions and provide for smaller crossovers where one character could reasonably show up in another's show without it being a "major crossover event". In fact, there's no reason Iris West couldn't show up on Arrow or Constantine either before or after the crossover event (being a news reporter and all) or have a younger version of a character appear at some point on Gotham - maybe Constantine spent some time there as a private eye and knows Jim Gordon - so that they have knowledge required on their own show, or ways to have contact with each other. The paramount issue remains character development and world building, so its important make sure that not only are the heroes populating a larger universe but that all the people in their worlds do as well. That's what integrated continuous fictional universes are all about. How do you think a DC cross-series event should be set up? Would it work? Share your thoughts below in the comments.
