2. Auton Rory (Doctor Who)
When Rory Williams first appeared in the series five premiere of Doctor Who along with the then-new Doctor and Amy Pond, fans of the show weren't particularly keen on the guy. But, following his induction, development and his adventures in the TARDIS, he became more likeable and popular and his death saving the Doctor and Amy was quite devastating. However, he was resurrected as a plastic Auton Roman soldier with the mind and soul of Rory - formed from psychic residue from Amy Pond's home - inhabiting it (proven by the Doctor when he suggested that saving Amy wasn't as important as saving the universe as a test, prompting Auton Rory to punch him which confirms it is really him).
