10 Great Horror TV Shows You Can Binge-Watch In One Sitting

2. Tales From The Darkside

Following the success of Creepshow in 1982, there was a demand for a television adaptation of the George Romero film. Between a mix of legal and creative issues, Romero and the showrunners decided to take another route and created what would soon be known as Tales from the Darkside.

Like Creepshow, Tales from the Darkside blended horror, science-fiction, fantasy, and dark humor. Unlike its predecessor, however, Tales from the Darkside wasn't fashioned as an EC horror comic, such as Tales from the Crypt.

Tales from the Darkside also featured short stories by established horror authors, such as Stephen King and Michael McDowell, which helped ensure the creative well never ran dry and that each episode had a somewhat unique presentation.

Stephen King's son, horror author Joe Hill, promised a reboot of Tales from the Darkside called Darkside, but ultimately, he produced a four-part comic book series instead. While that meant the show didn't get the revamping fans had hoped for, the anthology can still be enjoyed in its entirety today on various streaming platforms and on DVD for anyone who wants to lose a weekend to Romero horror.
