10 Great TV Shows With An Even Better Soundtrack

8. Nashville

Much like the country music genre that it's based on, ABC's musical soap opera Nashville might not be for everyone, but it's pretty hard to ignore the show's (and it's soundtrack's) success.

The show tells the story of the lives of various fictional country singers and executives, with a focus on the dwindling career of aging superstar Rayna James (Connie Britton) and the blossoming career of rising star Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere).

The show boasts a pretty large ensemble cast, and there's more than enough heartache, heartbreak, and general drama to go around.

In fact, Nashville was so popular with its fans that when AMC cancelled the show after its fourth season, they petitioned to have it brought back. Their (very loud) voices were heard, and Nashville was picked up by CMT, where it ran for two more seasons before ending in 2018.

Nashville's soundtrack is an excellent blend of both original songs and country covers, and the various soundtrack albums released have sold almost 1 million copies in the US alone.
