10 Greatest Star Wars: The Clone Wars Episodes That Changed Everything

7. Heroes On Both Sides

While the original trilogy was quite content with black-and-white morals, light side versus the dark, the prequel trilogy set out to highlight the ethical implications of war and the hypocrisy of the Jedi. Unfortunately, this wasn't done quite as well as it could have been. But good news! The Clone Wars featured some of the best philosophical episodes in the franchise, and Heroes on Both Sides is one of the greatest.

Taking a break from Anakin and joining Padme on an ambassadorial mission to the capital of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Ahsoka learns to see the grey areas of political warfare. While Padme engages with her Separatist friend, Mina Boteri, in discussing the schemes of the nefarious Banking clan, Ahsoka engages in a lengthy discussion of morals with Boteri's son, Lux.

Trust me, this is a lot more entertaining and interesting than I'm making it out to be! Ahsoka's animosity towards Lux fades as they discover their mutual interests and as Lux shines a light on the ethical setbacks of the Republic (after all, Clones are living beings while Droids do not enjoy the same sentience).

The episode isn't just an important stepping stone for Ahsoka, but a wonderful reminder on the complexities of all politics in the real world.
