Many great ninjas in the world of Naruto use swords strong enough to sheer entire mountain tops off. However, none have left behind the spectacular first impression that an elite member of the seven swordsmen, Zabuza Momochi, has.

A pure monster with a sword, Zabuza earned his name “The Demon of the Mist” when he slaughtered an entire class of ninja academy students in the Blood Mist Village, the village that would become the Hidden Leaf Village. After being exiled from the village, he became a hitman for hire, roaming the countryside looking for work with his young disciple Haku.

Zabuza uses a sword called the executioner’s blade, which can repair itself using the iron in blood taken from Zabuza’s targets. He also uses several jutsu’s to help turn the tide of battle in Zabuza’s favor, such as Mist Jutsu, Water Prison, Water Dragon Jutsu, and Giant Vortex Jutsu.

Zabuza was one of the deadliest men alive, and even after he died fighting Kakashi in Naruto’s first-ever official mission, he was still just as deadly when he was used in the fourth great ninja war against the heroes of the Ninja Alliance.

Zabuza may not be the strongest warrior Naruto has fought, but Zabuza and Haku each had a massive impact on the young Hokage when they ended up fighting and dying for each other, proving that simply wielding a blade for no one but yourself was no way for anyone to live, and that to truly live is to fight for someone else. It is a lesson that shaped the path for Naruto to ninja run down for the rest of his life.
