10 Marvel Characters Who Deserve Their Own Disney+ Series

2. Riri Williams

Iron Man Riri Williams
Marvel Comics

Robert Downey Jnr has already advocated for Riri Williams joining the MCU, when introducing Williams’ writer Eve Ewing at the Gene Siskel Centre. However, her path into the movies doesn’t seem abundantly clear, despite RDJ’s backing.

Without Iron Man, it’s certainly harder to introduce her, but not impossible. She could be working for Stark Industries and entrusted by Pepper Potts or Happy Hogan to work on Tony’s armour, before beginning a fully fledged Ironheart storyline.

It would be cool to see Gwyneth Paltrow don the Rescue armour again, but it’s difficult to see how this storyline might fit in a solo movie. A TV series allows for more breathing room.

With Spider-Man departing, there is room for a new ‘new Iron Man’, but Riri Williams is in danger of stepping on his toes. Of course, everyone is holding their breath that maybe, just maybe, Disney & Sony can work something out and Spidey won’t be gone for good.

After an unpopular start in the comics when it appeared she’d be fully replacing Iron Man, Riri Williams has recovered to become a Marvel rising star. Disney+ might just be the perfect place for her to develop further.
