It wouldn't be the X Factor without Louis Walsh sitting on the end of the panel. He's as familiar as home cooking and essentially part of the furniture. In his ten years on the show he has won it once in 2005, but brought so many memorable moments he just couldn't not be included in this list. Louis was first on UK screens when he sat on the panel of Popstars The Rivals, that witnessed the formation of Girls Aloud way back in 2002. A personal relationship with Simon Cowell saw him join the X Factor UK panel in 2004, a position that he has held ever since. Louis was always a punching bag for Simon in the early days and had a great rapport with Sharon Osbourne throughout. However in his later years, Louis became known for putting through so called 'novelty' acts to the live shows. Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland HATED this behaviour and sadly, we never got to see Goldie Chung make it to the live shows. He is after all responsible for Jedward, Wagner and Kitty Brucknel - all remembered for everything BUT their vocal performance. But of course, Louis loved the controversy and the fact these acts gained press coverage and votes over other contestants, was the icing on the cake. His catch phrases are well known and painfully overused, but the audience love him for it (me included). There are only so many times you Louis can say "You remind me of a young & "You're the next big boy band". Still...Saturday night with out Louis Walsh would be a sad, sad place.
