10 Mistakes That Made TV Shows Better

6. "Flaw-Fleeing Flasier" - Frasier

Much like the aforementioned Friends joke, Frasier managed to spin a verbal goof into a genuinely hilarious gag that felt totally true to the characters involved.

Near the start of the season 11 episode "A Man, a Plan and a Gal: Julia," Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) and Niles (David Hyde Pierce) are having coffee together while Niles dispenses some relationship advice to his brother.

Frasier responds by referring to himself as "the old fault-finding, flaw-fleeing Flasier," and without missing a beat, Niles smugly replies, "You said Flasier."

This was indeed an unintended slip of the tongue on Grammer's part, yet Pierce's quick thinking turned it into a hilarious setup and payoff, followed by the pair bickering over whether or not Frasier actually knows his own name.

It was all perfectly in character for the two: Niles never missing a chance to make a self-effacing correction, and Frasier's arrogant frustration at being proven wrong.
