10 MORE Actors You Didn’t Know Were In Star Trek

4. Sam Richardson

Star Trek Lower Decks Least Dangerous Game Vendome

We've spoken about Sam Richardson quite a bit on the channel of late. We'll be speaking about him quite a bit more in the months to come. The actor/comedian, known for his roles in VeepDetroiters, and Ted Lasso, is set to appear as Chameloid 'Quasi' in Star Trek: Section 31, the Long Trek. You may not have realised, but Richardson has been in Star Trek before.

Far from covert ops, Richardson twice gave voice to Bolian Starfleet officer Vendome in Star Trek: Lower Decks. A hapless and overworked ensign in Temporal Edict — bringing wood instead of honour — Vendome had the most meteoric rise to Captain within only a few months of his transfer to the Inglewood. Boimler was envious enough, so let's hope Harry Kim doesn't get wind of Vendome's precipitous promotion in season five!

Richardson returned to "kick ass" as the character in The Stars At Night, but who knows, perhaps he will get to voice Vendome one more time before Lower Decks comes to an end. There's not long to wait for Richardson's in-person performance either. Right out of New York Comic Con, we now know that Section 31 is coming to streaming on 24 January 2025 on Paramount+.
