10 More TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

Riverdale Cancelled
The CW

Made victim to The CW's recent bloodbath, 4400 was yet another reboot of a hit TV show, albeit one not nearly as iconic as Charmed or Saved by the Bell.

The original series ran for four seasons between 2004 to 2007, and was ultimately cancelled due to both the Writers Guild of America strike and dwindling ratings - this is despite it receiving consistently strong reviews throughout its run.

The reboot, which launched last October, failed to strike much of a chord at all. Scoring mixed reviews throughout, it reached its dramatic finale with ratings figures that were less than half that of the season premiere. Months after its season finished, The CW confirmed its cancellation.

The reboot is more socially conscious in tone - examining the origins of white supremacy from a predominantly Black perspective - and this was predictably quite polarising for audiences, some praising the series for its ambition while others felt it strayed too far from the original.

At the very least, the reboot's fleeting existence might make more people aware of the original.
